In the near future, Basic Skills shall become a separate entity totally independent from the workshops. A student, upon successful completion of this program, will meet the basic employment requirements including English Language proficiency, numeracy, computer literacy, basic knowledge of safety, workshop practices and technical drawing (manual & AutoCAD). However, he will have two options: (1) he can take his Basic Skills certificate and apply for a job, or (2) continue his diploma course by undergoing additional training in different skills in the workshops.
