Guidance & Counseling Committee News !!!

Guidance & Counseling Committee (GCC) put forward an interesting and important lecture to basic skills 4th level students. The lecture appeared under the topic ( An introduction to Essential Professional Soft Skills ). The topic was lead by the committee coordinator , in MPH on Monday 21/03/1433 ,at 9:15 a.m. The lecture covered in details the concept of soft skills along with the most crucial professional skills. The session was enjoyable and fruitful and the students showed a great attention of all that were presented during the lecture. A member of GCC participated commenting on some of the information contained in the body of the lecture and urged students to attend such necessary professional lectures.

Visit to the United Company !!!

JTI social club in coordination with industrial relation organized a visit to the United Company, one of SABIC subsidiary in order to inform students about Petrochemical industry and also to be aware about their future career after graduation.

This visit was arranged within students activities program that carried out by JTI social club. The visit included a number of (18) students in addition to the club head. .

JTI Social Club Activity !!!

JTI Social Club in coordination with JTI Mechanical Department ,handed over a course on “ Car Maintenance .” to Industrial Jubail Secondary Schools students. Certificates were distributed to students in the presence of JTI student activities section supervisor besides another section’s member. .

IDC and representatives of SCSB meet at JTI !!!

To facilitate the process of financing projects for entrepreneurs in the Industrial Development Centre IDC, from the Saudi Credit and Saving Bank SCSB, A meeting has been conducted, on Wednesday, 28/12/2011, between IDC and representatives of SCSB at JTI, the team of IDC headed by Mr. Abdul Mohsen Al-Jarallah, head of IDC.

The aim of the meeting to facilitate cooperation between IDC and SCSB, in addition to be an approved sponsor for SMEs in the kingdom.

In addition, the meeting focused on the role of the IDC, and how IDC reducing the risks surrounding projects especially in the financial aspects. At the end guests visited the incubators.

The results of the meeting were promising.

JTI second annual marathon !!!

HE engineer : Abdul rahman Bin Saeed Al Dossari , JTI manager , announced the commencement signal of JTI second annual marathon that organized by Sports Club for students and employees as well. The manager honored the first positions participants and distributed awards to them. The order of the winners as follows:

                   Ahmad Al Abdulqader - 2nd place .
                   Mohammed Maqbool – 3rdplace .

GCC NEWS !!!

Among its activities directed to Basic skills fourth level students , GCC offered the workshop No (7) in the new MPH on Monday 26/12/2011, at (9:10 – 10:15 ). The lecture which was accompanied by splendid magnificent presentations, forwarded concentrated illustrations of JTI disciplines to students. The lecture presented by :

Head of Mechanical skills Dept.

The lecturers gave concise introduction to each discipline included the theoretical and hand-on contents, discipline main objectives and job opportunities that will well matching the discipline in the future.The committee head, welcomed and introduced the lecturers. The meeting was really beneficial and fruitful and the students partook efficiently. ..

JTI first Industrial Gathering !!!

JTI arranged its first industrial gathering in the presence of some of industrial sector officials such as Saudi ARAMCO , SABIC , Chevron , Tasnee, Maaden and other major companies. The meeting discussed tracks of cooperation along with views and suggestions regarding industrial sector requirements for disciplines that provided by JTI in order to serve the interests of both parties and to help in providing an appropriate and up-to-date output that matching the requirements of this sector. There was also an exhibition displayed a group of trainees’ projects and some of JTI services and training programs .

HE engineer : Abdulrahman Saeed Al Dossary , JTI manager , commenced the ceremony by welcoming the attendees , explained the goals of the gathering and introduced JTI programs and services. He also spoke about the strong bond and continuous communication between companies that benefit from JTI outputs and JTI which endeavors hard to present disciplines that meet the requirements of industrial sectors.

The attendees highly estimated JTI invitation that allowed them to have a closer look at JTI programs and disciplines which it provides to labor market. The meeting also included an open free discussions that lead to exchange views and suggestions in clear and transparent climate. Moreover, the attendees praised RC methodology of training in all its colleges and institutes which usually produces graduates of high advanced skills..

IDC participates in forum of young saudis !!!

Industrial Development Center IDC at JTI participated in the Forum of Saudi young 2011, during the period 11-14/2011, which was organized by Al-Sharqia Chamber at the Al-Dhahran exhibitions. The goal of this forum is to promote products and services for the Saudi young to consumer and investors, also to present some of the experiences of successful young projects.

IDC Participated to promote IDC and it’s services to the Saudi young, also to attract entrepreneurs to help them transfer their ideas to businesses in the Saudi market. .

Prevention & Smoking Quitting Program !!!

JTI health supervision club in cooperation with Tasnee Company organized “prevention & smoking quitting” program through ambulant exhibition bus that allocated to this program.

The program helps smoker to quit smoking via therapy sessions inside the bus. JTI all smokers, students or employees, have benefited from this program during the period of 16-19/01/1433..

English language placement test for Maaden Co. applicants !!!

JTI carried out an English language placement test to determine English language level for a number of (130) applicants who applied for jobs with Minerals Company for Phosphate. The test conducted on Monday 17/01/1433 AH corresponding to 12/12/2011, under the memorandum of understanding signed with the company.
JTI has recently conducted many English language placement tests in addition to specified programs and short courses for industrial companies and government agencies , as well as training programs for community service..

JTI scout group Honoured !!!

HE Engineer Abdul Rahman Bin Saeed Al Dossary , JTI manager , had honored JTI scout group and handed over certificates of appreciation along with valuable rewards to all the group members .
The group participated in Hajj Hudaybiah camp of the year ( 1432), where the group earned the first position armor in wandering survey from Saudi Arabia Scout Society. The group also earned the shield of excellence in servicing pilgrims.

Lecture on Soft Skills !!! !!!

The Basic Skills department of JTI provided an important lecture to students on the importance of SOFT SKILLS (at the workplace and elsewhere) on Monday, December 5, 2011 at 9:00 a.m. The lecture came as part of the annual operation plan for the department.

The lecture was presented by Mr. Mohammad Al-Qahtani and Mr. Musa Kaleem from Ibn Zahr, both of whom did an excellent job in highlighting the importance of such skills and how they relate to personal as well as organizational effectiveness and success..

GCC NEWS !!!

JTI Guidance & Counseling Committee (GCC) has proceeded its first activity of the 2nd training period that directed to BS level 4 students. The activity was an introductory lecture on the most important employment soft skills. The lecture was held in MPH on Monday 25/12/1432. The lecture was presented by GCC coordinator . The lecturer explained thoroughly the main soft skills that are essentially needed for a successful employee. The students participated effectively in the discussion. One of the GCC member , attended the lecture and commented on some of the mentioned points.

Table Tennis Championship

JTI sports club organized table tennis championship of the year 1432 which lasted for three days . The championship finalized by coronation of the two following winners :
1. Student : Abdulhameed Jasem ( first position )
2. Student : Tariq Al Ghamdi ( second position)
The head of Supreme Committee for JTI activities delivered trophies and prizes to the winners.

JTI Wins First Place in Karate

JTI Karate club participated in the first group championship of bodies Kata and fighting ( individual+ group) which was held in Youth Care Hall – Malaz – Riyadh, on Wednesday & Thursday corresponding to 19-20/10/2011. JTI obtained the first position in the competition.

Guidance and Counseling Committee

At the end of its activities that directed to level four students of this training period , GCC presented its fourth seminar under the topic ( The concept of entrepreneurship & entrepreneurial culture) . The seminar was commanded by Mr. : Shaddy Al Taweel - IDC staff - and held on Mon. 24th of Oct.,2011. The lecturer put forth an elaborate explanation for the above concepts. Mr. Musa Hamid , GCC coordinator, introduced the lecturer and brought up the importance of IDC services for JTI students and the community as well.

Mini-Baldrige Assessment Workshop at JTI

The Planning, Development & Quality assurance department with Mrs. Hedley & Christensen from Oriel STAT A MATRIX have started the second phase of the Project “Toward Excellence” at Jubail Industrial Institute.This Second phase consists of a two-day’s workshop involving staff for interviewing and analyzing data as a part of the validation process. Eighteen JTI staff and administrators have participated at the workshop and a team of seven members had successfully completed the training needed for the interviewing process. The workshop will be followed by a 21 days of interviewing and collecting data that will be used for scoring next month. Opportunities for improvement will be identified in the third phase and will be discussed  with the management as a result of this important phase.

Committee of Guidance and Counseling

Among its activities that directed to the preparatory year – level 4 students, Guidance and Counseling Committee (GCC) in JTI presented the 2nd seminar on the topic :“ Optimum strategies for studying” .

The seminar was led by Mr. Musa Hamid, the committee coordinator on Mon. Oct.10th , 2011. The previous week seminar was on “ Time management” and commanded by Mr. Saad Al Harbi , the head of JTI students’ affairs section.
A considerable number of students attended the seminars and participated effectively.

Within the agreement between IDC at JTI and Alsharqia Chamber of commerce, a lecture was presented "Introduction to E-marketing" on Tuesday 4/10/2011, by Adrian Feane.

The lecture aimed to present the importance of e-marketing in light of the rapid technical changes in the world, and in our social life.

 IDC Completes "Basics of start ups " course !

On 20/7/2011, the training course “Basics of start ups” Provided by Industrial Development Centre IDC at JTI was finished successfully.

Mr. Abd almohsen Al.Jarallah Head of IDC, distributed the certificates to the trainees.

The trainees appreciated the importance and benefit acquired from the training course. As a requirement for the first stage in the pre-incubation program at IDC, the trainees will start preparing their own visibility study for their projects, with the of coordination IDC.

IDC Providing Traning courses for its entrepreneurs !!.

Industrial Development Centre IDC at JTI, is providing a training course for its entrepreneurs entitled "Basics of start-ups" during the period 16-20/7/2011. Where this training comes as a part of IDC program for the pre-incubation phase.

The training provide trainees with the tools, skills and knowledge necessary to help them to convert their ideas to a real businesses in the Saudi market. The training focused on:

First      :   Introduction to IDC.
Second :   Basics of entrepreneurship and entrepreneurial spirit.
Third     :   How to prepare a feasibility study, with practical application.
Fourth   :   What business records needed to start of the project..

UNIDO visited IDC

In light of the cooperation agreement between the Industrial Development Center IDC at Jubail Technical Institute JTI and (UNIDO) in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
A team of UNIDO visited IDC on Sunday 10/7/2011, in order to discuss the cooperation both IDC & UNIDO agreed upon between the parties during the coming period, and on the sidelines of the visit, interviewed new entrepreneurs, and discussed their ideas and make recommendations to them.
After that, UNIDO team and head of IDC Mr. Abdul Mohsen Al-Jarallah and his team, visited JTI director eng. Abdul Rahman Al Dosari to summarize the most important action steps to be undertaken by the parties during the coming period.

IDC Organises Meeting

To facilitate the process of financing projects from local banks, on Wednesday, 22/6/2011, The IDC organized a meeting for representatives of some local banks in KSA with a team of IDC headed by Mr. Abdul Mohsen Al-Jarallah, head of IDC and attended by representatives of the National Bank, Al Rajhi Bank, Riyad Bank, SABB bank, Arab Bank and Samba bank.

The objective of the meeting to explain the role of the IDC, and how IDC can help entrepreneurs in their projects, also role of IDC in reducing the risks surrounding projects particularly in the financial aspects. After that guests visited the incubators.The results of the meeting were positive, and brought closer point of view to both IDC and banks.
