This discipline will qualify trainees to become highly skilled welding technicians that are required in the chemical industries, food processing plants, ship building and ship repair and many other areas of development. The trainees will be capable of welding various types of steel, such as: carbon steel and stainless steel with various processes such as: oxyacetylene welding, shielded metal arc welding, flux cored arc welding, gas metal arc welding, and gas tungsten arc welding. The trainees are taught to perform oxyacetylene cutting, plasma cutting and gouging. Arc welding inspection and quality control are taught theoretically and practically to the trainees. Other theoretical classes include weld ability of metals, welding processes, and welding symbols.
