The English Language Program
constitutes a large part of the first phase of students’ academic life at JTI.
Since English is the medium of instruction in all the specialization subjects,
the section tries to help the students develop communication skills in English
which include listening, speaking, reading, and writing. Courses in reading help
students to understand written texts, develop a wider vocabulary, read
critically, and think analytically.
Students’ fluency in spoken and
written English is developed through lessons in effective oral and written
communication. Exercises in taking notes from lectures and written materials,
synthesizing notes from various sources, and preparing for and answering
different types of examinations help develop effective study skills among the
students. The section indeed reflects the institute’s commitment to providing
quality industrial training to its students in response to their needs.
